We are offering a
1.5-year postdoctoral scholarship
in
Applied Geochemistry
, funded by the
Kempe Foundation
. Our research group at LTU owns a NEPTUN multi-collector ion-coupled mass spectrometer (MC-ICP-MS) and an isotope-ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS), both of which we aim to integrate into our analytical workflow. The position focuses on developing
novel isotopic characterization methods for solid μ-samples
, contributing to cutting-edge research in sustainable mining and geochemical exploration.
What you'll do:
- Produce and characterize target mineral concentrates and monolayers
- Develop μ-sampling techniques using micromilling
- Test multi-isotope / multi-element measurement methods
- Interpret and validate isotopic and mineralogical data
Qualifications:
- PhD (or equivalent) in Applied Geosciences, awarded within the past 5 years
- Strong skills in mineral characterization and isotopic analysis
- Excellent English (C1 level)
- Proficiency with analytical and data handling tools
- Interest in multidisciplinary research within mining and sustainability
