We're hiring a
Business Unit Lead
to head up the Data & Analytics division for a specialised BI client of ours in Sweden. This is a high-impact, senior leadership role with full visibility across the organisation and European operations. You'll be the driving force behind the company's data strategy, analytics innovation, and AI transformation.

What You'll Do

As the Business Unit Lead, you'll be responsible for shaping and executing a bold vision for data and analytics across the business. Your remit will span strategy, delivery, innovation, and leadership:

Data Strategy & Roadmap

• Develop and refine a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with business goals.
• Identify opportunities where analytics, machine learning, and generative AI can unlock competitive advantage, drive efficiency, and fuel growth.
• Champion data-driven decision-making across all levels of the organisation.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, BI analysts, and visualisation experts.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Set clear goals, inspire passion for data, and coach talent to reach their full potential.

Analytics Solution Delivery

• Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable analytics solutions.
• Guide the architecture of data warehouses/lakes, ensure data quality and governance, and implement modern analytics platforms.
• Leverage experience with large-scale BI deployments to deliver high-impact solutions.

Business Integration

• Partner with business units (finance, operations, marketing, etc.) to embed analytics into decision-making.
• Translate complex data into compelling insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Use data storytelling and visualisation to communicate clearly and drive action.

Innovation & AI Oversight

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies in data science and AI.
• Evaluate and implement multi-vendor AI solutions tailored to business needs.
• Explore new frontiers like generative AI, balancing innovation with practicality.
• Make strategic decisions on build vs. buy for analytics tools and platforms.

Governance & Trust

• Establish strong data governance and ethical AI guidelines.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all analytics activities.
• Champion transparency in AI models to build trust in automated insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with IT, product development, and external partners to enhance data capabilities.
• Act as an internal evangelist for data culture, educating teams on how to leverage data effectively.
• Represent the business in industry forums and strategic partnerships.

Performance Monitoring

• Define KPIs for data initiatives and regularly report on their impact.
• Use a results-oriented approach to measure how analytics improves business metrics.
• Continuously refine strategy based on performance outcomes.

What You'll Bring

• Proven leadership experience in MS BI & Data environments
• Strong track record in selling and delivering data projects
• Deep understanding of data architecture, analytics platforms, and business intelligence tools
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluency in Swedish and a consultative, client-first mindset
• Experience with or ambition to take on P&L responsibility
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
