Who is your future team?

You'll join the METS Firmware department, part of Axis' R&D EVP METS organization. We develop firmware for explosion-protected, thermal, and specialty cameras – products that bring Axis technology into new and demanding environments.

Your team works closely with colleagues across disciplines such as image engineering, electronics, mechanics, production test, and software quality. Collaboration, openness, and knowledge sharing are at the heart of how we work – and key to developing world-leading products together.

You'll also be part of the METS management team, where we jointly  develop the METS organization. Together we contribute to product roadmaps and technology directions to meet future customer and market needs.

What will you do?

As Firmware Engineering Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of skilled firmware engineers. You'll ensure the team has the right competence, motivation, and conditions to succeed – both as individuals and as a group. You'll play a key role in shaping how we design and deliver firmware solutions for the METS products, while also contributing to the strategic direction of the METS products as a whole.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading, inspiring, and developing your team in line with company and individual needs.
• Driving an agile, collaborative way of working.
• Being part of the METS management team, jointly responsible for developing the organization, methods, and processes, and contributing to product strategies and technology choices.
• Contributing to strategic decisions within firmware and feature development.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliveries.
• Managing day-to-day operations such as competence planning, recruitment, budgeting, and performance talks.

Who are you?

You're a people-focused leader with a technical interest and genuine curiosity about how things work. You balance listening and decisiveness, understand the power of diversity, and do what it takes to make your team and organization successful. You actively support project teams to achieve the project goals. You're comfortable networking both inside and outside Axis, and you communicate clearly in both Swedish and English.

You likely have:

• Leadership experience as Line Manager.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience leading software or firmware teams in an agile environment.
• An interest in firmware methods and technologies.

Bonus points for:

• Background in embedded systems or software architecture, preferably from hands-on development work.
• A user-centric mindset in product development.
