Job Description

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will support and guide Sales Engineers while working with the Direct Sales and Alliance teams to provide subject matter expertise for our tax information reporting solutions.


You will maintain expert level understanding of functionality and technical architecture of our products, assist in the client discovery process to help uncover unforeseen challenges and ensure the proper offering is being proposed, and guide the strategic efforts to conduct sales and solutions presentations for clients of all sizes.


You will also develop and lead training sessions both within and outside the Sales Engineer department, assist Sales Engineers in designing and delivering customised solution demonstrations using Sovos SaaS solutions and services, and service as a subject matter expert surrounding the creation of RFP and RFI responses for prospective new clients.


You will work closely with the on-boarding team ensuring a seamless handoff from sales to on-boarding for new clients, maintain and continually improve demonstration capabilities, conducting internal Sales department training, demo system props and proposal content, and act with integrity and demonstrate ethical behaviour in all matters with all stakeholders.


You will take full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction, demonstrate initiative, drive and determination to achieve results, success and growth, maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement and commitment to action, and demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and commitment to personal development and learning.



Requirements and Qualifications


  • A minimum of 4+ years' of sales related experience
  • Customer facing experience, required
  • The ability to be strategic towards business outcomes as well as manage and handle day-to-day details and deadlines
  • A strong team orientation with a history of working collaboratively in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities (at times conflicting), remain focused under pressure and work extended hours as required
  • A thorough knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word, & Power Point
  • A well-developed business ethics and the ability to maintain a high level of discretion
  • Self-motivated and strong drive to succeed
  • Moderate travel required for client meetings, trade shows, and special projects including some international travel
  • The ability to pass a background, drug and credit check
  • Essential Job Functions: Interact effectively with teammates, colleagues and customers; Comprehend and communicate complex concepts; Concentrate, analyse and resolve complex problems; Utilise technology (phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfil work requirements

Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience and location.
