International Customs Manager

Skill Summary:

As an International Customs Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in ensuring customs compliance across our global operations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of customs law, EU trade regulations, and the EMCS procedure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Customs Compliance: Direct and manage a team responsible for ensuring customs compliance worldwide.
  2. Develop Strategic Plans: Create and implement comprehensive plans to achieve customs compliance goals.
  3. Collaborate Across Departments: Foster strong relationships with colleagues across various departments to enhance processes and optimize data usage.
  4. Implement Process Improvements: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline operations.
  5. Provide Expert Guidance: Offer specialized advice to executives on navigating complex customs regulations and developing informed operational decisions.

About You:

We seek an exceptional leader who possesses excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and is fluent in English. Knowledge of German and/or a Scandinavian language is an added value.

Requirements:

  • A degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field, accompanied by relevant work experience.
  • Extensive expertise in customs law, EU trade regulations, and the EMCS procedure.
  • Proven experience in managing customs compliance worldwide.
  • Strong understanding of administrative processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Prior experience in travel retail or duty-free commerce is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is advantageous.
