About the Job Description

We're looking for a Cloud Architecture Expert to join our team. As a key member, you'll design, build, and maintain a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that supports our growth, focusing on cost-effectiveness and reliability.

This role emphasizes hands-on work with cloud infrastructure and services. You'll lead efforts in designing a solid, scalable, and cost-effective platform, setting the standard for cloud best practices and enabling product teams to operate with efficiency and confidence.

Responsibilities

  1. Design and Optimize Cloud Infrastructure: Develop a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud environment that supports our growth, focusing on cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  2. Provide Cloud Expertise and Guidance: Serve as the team's cloud authority, helping drive effective and innovative use of cloud services.
  3. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC solutions using tools like Terraform, enabling efficient resource provisioning, scaling, and management.
  4. Establish Monitoring and Reliability Standards: Create robust monitoring and alerting practices with tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
  5. Optimize Cloud Costs and Resource Usage: Continuously evaluate and apply strategies to enhance resource utilization on the cloud, ensuring infrastructure is both cost-effective and efficient.
  6. Enable Self-Service and Automation: Develop self-service tools and automated workflows that empower product teams to manage their own resources independently, enhancing efficiency and reducing dependencies.
  7. Champion SRE and Reliability Best Practices: Promote Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles within the team, fostering a culture of stability, reliability, and proactive system management.
  8. Support Deployment and Operational Workflows: Ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with deployment and operational requirements, providing guidance on CI/CD workflows, automation, and cloud-native development practices.

Requirements

  1. Deep Cloud Knowledge: Proven expertise in architecting, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure, including practical experience with services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  2. Infrastructure Automation Proficiency: Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to drive efficient and scalable cloud management practices.
  3. Monitoring and Observability Experience: Strong background in using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana for maintaining system health and visibility.
  4. Containerization and Orchestration: Proficient in containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration to support efficient scaling and resource usage in cloud environments.
  5. Scripting and Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash, enabling you to create scalable and reusable automation solutions for cloud infrastructure management.
  6. Performance Optimization Abilities: Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues within cloud infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
  7. Incident Management Experience: Familiarity with incident response practices and a proactive approach to minimizing service interruptions and maintaining uptime.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  1. Cloud Cost Management and Optimization: Experience implementing strategies to control cloud costs, including efficient resource scaling and usage optimization on the cloud.
  2. CI/CD Workflow Knowledge: Familiarity with CI/CD practices, enabling product teams to streamline deployments and improve reliability using cloud-native tooling.
  3. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles: Knowledge of SRE best practices and experience in applying them to improve operational resilience and platform stability.
  4. Cloud-Native Development Insights: Understanding of microservices architectures and the best practices for building, managing, and scaling applications in a cloud-native environment.
