About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the T&SD HVDC Portfolio management office as an R&D Portfolio Manager HVDC System. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing systems and solutions for power transmission.

You will work closely with various stakeholders, including Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Service teams, to ensure the delivery of high-quality results.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the translation of product roadmap and technical vision into a R&D portfolio backlog in the HVDC system R&D area.
  • Develop and implement an IP and collaboration strategy.
  • Coordinate regular system portfolio synchronization with stakeholders.
  • Provide support during project reviews in the system portfolio.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Product Management regarding direction and content, as well as with Engineering, Operations, and Service teams regarding deliverables.
  • Work with the HVDC R&D portfolio office to define the R&D budget.
  • Prepare project charters and support R&D budget distribution between projects aligned with Product Management, R&D Portfolio office manager, and Technology manager.
  • Oversee global project execution and reporting, ensuring timely, within-budget, and high-quality delivery.

Your Ideal Background

  • You should have experience in R&D project management and/or portfolio management.
  • A degree in M.Sc. in Electrical/Power/Physics/Power Electronics/Computer Science or equal is required.
  • Familiarity with valve and HVDC systems is necessary.
  • You should be a structured, driven individual who continuously improves processes and comes up with new ideas.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential.
  • Experience with project management certifications and Lean Product Development, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and other related methodologies is desirable.
  • Traveling for work is essential for this role.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.
