Infotiv, a leading provider of SW & HW development and test solutions, is seeking two master students to conduct a thesis project on the verification and validation of machine learning systems using simulation. The project aims to investigate the use of simulation and digital twins of factory workers, equipment, and tools to enable quick prototyping and testing of machine learning models.
The goal is to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of using simulation for:
- Localization and monitoring of agents, factory workers, equipment, and tools
- Developing machine learning models to monitor and control objects and agents and their pose
- Verification and validation of existing ML models
Potential research questions include:
- Verification and validation of complex machine learning-based models in a simulator
- Human pose estimation using ML
- Multi-Camera localization, tracking, and mapping
- Multi-agent Indoor navigation
Applicants should have a background in mechatronics, computer science/engineering, or equivalent programs, and be interested in software development and computer vision. Experience with programming languages such as C++ or Python is required, and previous experience with Machine learning, ROS2, Nav2, Gazebo simulator, Git, Continuous Integration, Delivery or Deployment, Jenkins, and Test Automation is meritorious.
