Collaborating with academic institutions and industry partners is essential to bridging the gap between research and practical applications. We've made significant strides, including the development of the dual-arm YuMi robot concept and the mobile YuMi concept.
In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and further developing research infrastructures, actively seeking collaborations with academic and industrial research partners, and contributing to robotics software development. Your work will involve operating ABB's industrial and collaborative robots in various environments to support and develop new robotics technologies.
Responsibilities- Maintain and further develop research infrastructure
- Pursue collaborations with academic and industrial research partners
- Contribute to robotics software development, focusing on areas such as robot control, manipulation, vision, mapping, navigation for mobile robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
You'll also be responsible for creating technical documentation to assist visiting researchers and engineers collaborating with WARA Robotics. This role requires a strong background in robotics, software engineering, or a related field, as well as proficiency in programming languages like C++ and Python.
Qualifications- A Master's or PhD degree in robotics, software engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals and practical experience
- Programming skills in languages like C++ and Python, plus experience in software engineering best practices
- Familiarity with ABB RAPID and RobotStudio, as well as hands-on robot commissioning experience, is highly valued
- Linux, software version control systems, and ROS 2 experience is beneficial
- English fluency, as it's our primary working language
