Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden SciLifeLab Group Full time
About Our Research

We are particularly interested in cancer-stroma interactions in pancreatic cancer. Our lab is situated at the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) and this position is part of the Data Driven Life Science program (DDLS).

What We Do

We conduct high-throughput stimulus-response experiments and use the data to train deep learning models of cancer. This allows us to identify systems-level mechanisms that can be used to uncover new biomarkers, drug targets, and paths to drug resistance.

Your Responsibilities

You will design and analyze a high-throughput stimulus-response experiment in cancer and stroma cells that will be conducted at our core facilities. The aim is to simulate the tumor microenvironment (TME) in pancreatic cancer to uncover self-reinforcing ligand secretion patterns, which could become the target of novel therapies.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

Other required qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cancer biology and the tumor microenvironment.
  • Experience analyzing high throughput omics data.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research and communicate findings effectively.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience designing a high throughput screen.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
