AWS Infrastructure Services is a division of Amazon Web Services (AWS) responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all global infrastructure.

We support data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have uninterrupted access to innovation.

Our team works on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

As a Data Center Facility Manager, you will be responsible for engineering operations and maintenance across the Amazon availability zone.

You will lead a team of engineers responsible for 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metrics reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the build out of facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.
  • Manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work performed aligns with AWS practices and procedures.
  • Ensure engineering systems availability in both leased and colocated facilities.
  • Conduct financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions.
  • Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to achieve high performance.
  • Negotiate and implement contracts, defining and auditing service level agreements.
  • Lead project management for multiple sites.
  • Make business decisions based on a deep understanding of the department or group.
  • Set priorities and develop project plans using business knowledge.
  • Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services for critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.

Requirements

  • Engineering/technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Data Center Engineering Management and People Management experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large-scale services.
  • 3+ years of experience building successful technical teams.
  • Excellent command of English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large-scale services.
  • 5+ years of experience building strong, successful technical teams.
