About the Role

The Medical Unit for Intensive Care and Thoracic Surgery is at the forefront of our new operational model, bringing together resources from anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care. This unit serves as a hospital-wide hub for patient-focused, high-quality, and innovative care, as well as research and education in perioperative medicine and intensive care (PMI) for adult patients.

As a perfusionist on this team, you will work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, operating room nurses, anesthesia nurses, and nurse assistants to manage a broad range of cardiac surgeries, ventricular assist device (VAD) implants, and ECMO treatments (including ECPR). Our department handles close to 1100 extracorporeal circulation (ECC) cases per year and 40-50 ECMO runs annually.

We are looking for a skilled perfusionist to join our multidisciplinary team of around 70 staff members, including 7 perfusionists. The position includes a 40-hour workweek with on-call duties and offers a six-month trial period with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.
