About the Role:
MachineGames Sweden AB is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Environment Artist to join our team. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for leading a team of environment artists and contributing to the creation of immersive and engaging game worlds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of environment artists, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality assets.
- Collaborate with the art director and other leads to develop and implement the artistic vision for our games.
- Ensure that the artistic and technical quality of the team's output meets our high standards and aligns with the game's creative vision.
- Coordinate with other teams and stakeholders to optimize the team's skills and resources, delegating tasks and projects as needed.
- Develop and maintain efficient workflow standards and pipelines within the team.
- Act as a champion and first point of contact for the team on cross-discipline questions and collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and encourage artistic and professional growth within the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a lead environment artist in a AAA game development cycle, with a track record of successfully leading teams towards a common goal.
- A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in environment art, 3D modeling, texturing, and PBR systems.
- Experience with game level production, including layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
