We design and develop a real-time usage data layer that addresses the challenges associated with usage-based models, such as revenue leaks and delayed customer responses.

We are currently developing our flagship platform, Usage Engine Cloud Edition, a cloud-based SaaS solution for our clients. This platform has already processed billions of events per month.

Key Aspects of the Role

As a Frontend Engineer at DigitalRoute, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of usage-based economies:

  • Developing a seamless, intuitive web interface using cutting-edge technology to create a high-performing, reliable, and scalable frontend architecture.

Key Responsibilities

You will be an integral part of an engineering team building a cloud-native, micro-services-based, multi-tenant product hosted on AWS with technologies like React, Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, and JavaScript.

  • Design & Develop: Build and optimize robust frontend solutions using modern JavaScript and React.
  • Performance Optimization: Improve Core Web Vitals, implement bundle optimization, and enhance rendering efficiency.
  • Technical Leadership: Drive frontend initiatives in collaboration with our Frontend Lead, actively participate in architectural discussions, and establish best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, designers, and product managers.
  • Code Quality & Testing: Write well-structured, maintainable code and ensure application stability through testing.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Documentation & Planning: Maintain clear technical documentation and actively participate in agile development processes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in JavaScript & React: Deep understanding of React internals, including React Fiber, modern hooks, and component lifecycle management.
  • Performance Focus: Strong knowledge of Core Web Vitals, bundle/code splitting, and performance profiling.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Experience in designing scalable frontend architectures, component libraries, and state management solutions.
  • Testing Proficiency: Hands-on experience with React Testing Library, Jest, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Technical Breadth: Experience working with software tools, and technologies, including GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jira.
  • Cloud Computing Experience: Experience in designing frontend product features for cloud-native applications, leveraging the flexibility and built-in capabilities offered by cloud platforms.
  • Microservice & Event-Driven Architecture: Good knowledge of micro-services and event-driven architectures.
  • Proven Experience: A track record of successful large-scale web application development.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to navigate complex technical challenges with innovative solutions.
