Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power Project Manager to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Sweden. As an R&D project manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers and lead R&D projects focusing on the development of innovative solutions for HVDC applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for setting up and executing R&D projects together with your project team in alignment with our R&D portfolio management.
  • You will develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and resource plans; perform risk analysis and monitor the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets.
  • You will proactively work with the team to identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the implementation of new solutions. You will develop risk management plans and strategies to respond to risks as they arise.
  • You will drive requirements analysis, pre-studies, solution development, and documentation of results in the projects.
  • You will be a part of the R&D Project Management Office. As a team, we are all responsible for working on our processes, quality, learning from/helping each other, and developing individually and as a team.

Your Background

  • You should hold a university degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering or similar and have a strong technical background within the electrical power industry.
  • You should have knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to HVDC, FACTS technology, power semiconductors, and voltage source converters applications.
  • A plus if you have experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches based on project requirements and constraints.
  • You should have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
