Position Overview
The SMS Group is seeking an experienced Factory Head - Mechanical Engineering to lead our Mould & Segment shop. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the smooth operation of the workshop, ensuring operational excellence at all times.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and leading dedicated planning and maintenance execution teams to ensure operational excellence at all times.
  • Developing and implementing proactive and reactive repair procedures related to moulds and segments (and associated parts) to meet workshop and client requirements on time and cost effectively.
  • Creating and distributing periodic reports relative to both workshop and personnel performance.


Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Graduate Engineer degree in mechanical engineering coupled with commercial knowledge or background. They should also have significant work experience within the steel making industry, preferably in casting and rolling or comparable roles.
Qualifications include:
  • Significant and provable work experience in asset management and resource allocation.
  • Independent and methodical approach to work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in MS Office and SAP/ERP systems.
  • Sound knowledge of English, both verbal and written, with German language skills being an optional asset.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and develop new skills as required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
