Quality Manager Job Summary:

This crucial position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive quality management systems within our steel mill. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and certifications is paramount.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Quality Framework Establishment: Design and oversee the implementation of effective quality frameworks, incorporating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and robust policies.
  • Certification and Compliance Oversight: Lead plant certification efforts, guaranteeing adherence to stringent industry standards like ISO 9001, VDA, and IATF 16949.
  • Raw Material Evaluation: Oversee the thorough evaluation and testing of raw materials to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Employee Training and Development: Provide expert training and resources to equip employees with cutting-edge quality control techniques, best practices, and industry expertise.
  • Audit and Assessment Program: Regularly conduct audits and assessments to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement targeted corrective actions.
  • Corrective Action Procedures: Establish and manage efficient corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, coupled with root cause analysis to address quality issues promptly.
  • Customer Satisfaction Focus: Oversee customer complaint resolution, prioritizing their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Performance Metrics and Data Analysis: Analyze quality data, recommending performance metrics to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality management, or a related field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
  • All relevant certificates necessary for this role.
  • Extensive experience in quality management, combined with strong leadership experience in heavy industry, preferably in the steel sector.
  • Familiarity with Conflict Minerals Reporting, REACH, and RoHS compliance programs is an asset.
  • Experience with Responsible Steel certification is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with statistical process control and quality control tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability standards.
