Our Global Project Controls team plays a vital role in delivering CO+I's objectives as trusted advisors, ensuring a comprehensive, responsive, and timely project controls program across all business sectors through the industry's finest personnel, methodologies, systems, and tools. The CO+I team is currently seeking a Datacenter Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Integrated Planner/Scheduler to provide essential services for a specific site. The selected candidate will be responsible for integrated planning and schedule management services for the campus, developing and analyzing fully integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) schedules. This role involves recommending solutions or recovery plans in response to schedule or cost impacts or delays, along with required weekly and monthly reporting as assigned.

We employ tools such as Master Schedules, Risk Frameworks, Quality Checklists, and Schedule Health Scorecards, collaborating closely with project managers in the field and general contractors to enhance schedule predictability and overall delivery efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in planning medium-sized capital projects within data centers, oil and gas, or chemical industries, specifically in engineering and procurement, with examples of integrated construction planning.
  • Strong understanding of Project Planning, Earned Value Management, and Key Commodity Tracking.
  • Proficiency in Oracle P6 project planning software.
  • Familiarity with Risk Schedule Analysis.
  • Ability to analyze EPC plans/schedules and provide in-depth insights into trends, issues, and mitigations.

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Assist in developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) that outline timelines and dependencies for large-scale datacenter construction projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, procurement, and construction, to ensure project milestones are achieved and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor project risks and devise contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and ensure project outcomes align with their expectations.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Continuously enhance project management processes and tools to boost efficiency and effectiveness.

General Contractor (GC) Procurement & Construction Schedule Baseline Management

  • Facilitate the development of a detailed Project Schedule in collaboration with the project team, GC, and Sub-Contractor vendors.
  • Work closely with the Regional Planning Lead to ensure the GC Baseline Schedule adheres to established standards and requirements.
  • Complete the GC Baseline Evaluation process and provide informed recommendations.
  • Conduct GC Proposal Schedule Evaluations and provide evaluation narratives and scores.

Schedule Analysis and Reporting

  • Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews onsite with GC schedule teams to analyze and validate onsite progress.
  • Proactively analyze project schedules by comparing cost/resource curves to actuals, tracking float consumption, performing schedule integrity checks, conducting delay impact analysis, and monitoring monthly performance while supporting Baseline Management and Change Control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate Schedule Time Impact Assessments of schedule delay events and recommend mitigation strategies to recover and/or control impacts.
  • Ensure GC compliance with Microsoft’s reporting cadence and Rhythm of Business requirements.
  • Evaluate GC Weekly and Monthly Schedule Reports, validate progress, and provide feedback and recommendations to GC as necessary.
  • Validate schedule updates along with a narrative for submission to the project team and Microsoft stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate threats to the project schedule and initiate corrective actions through field staff.
  • Analyze resource loading and recommend adjustments or corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Assess impacts of design and/or long lead equipment changes and provide recommendations to mitigate/recover the schedule.
  • Conduct final reviews of schedules for estimating as requested.

Collaboration

  • Support Collaborative Planning workshops by utilizing the Schedule to facilitate planning, coordination, and accurate progress reporting.
  • Interface with site management regarding critical schedule activities, changes, impacts to schedule, change orders, project progress, and claims analysis.
  • Provide planning and schedule management support to project managers, Microsoft stakeholders, project teams, and regional hubs.
  • Assist the Regional and Global Scheduling Leads in formulating, implementing, and continuously developing scheduling processes and procedures.

Rhythm of Business

  • Adhere to Microsoft’s Rhythm of Business deliverables for your project.
  • Review and evaluate GC Schedule submittals.
  • Complete Month End Project reports on time and review them with project managers.
  • Review Month End Project Report and evaluation findings with the GC and follow up on action items.
  • Support the Regional Schedule Lead in preparing for Monthly Regional Reviews.
