Project Overview
The International Society for Industrial Ecology is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to investigate the potential of urban resource centers in reducing the environmental impact of the construction industry. This transdisciplinary project combines industrial ecology and construction logistics to explore the feasibility of implementing circularity hubs in urban areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the material stock and flow modeling, life cycle assessment, and construction logistics to understand the potential benefits of urban resource centers.
- Develop a comprehensive framework for evaluating the environmental impact of construction projects and identifying opportunities for circular economy practices.
- Collaborate with the Sustainable Building Research group and the Division of Construction Management to ensure the project's success and relevance to the industry.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial ecology, construction management, or a related field, with excellent research and analytical skills.
