Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our team at ERSG Holdings Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and assessing the engineering team for one or more projects within our program of works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Scope Management: Develop and manage the engineering scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Engineering Performance Monitoring: Develop and manage engineering performance monitoring tools, such as Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Resource Allocation: Identify resource needs for the project and work with Discipline Managers to staff the project.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Interface and coordinate with other departments (Construction, Procurement, Project Controls, Operations) to ensure design accounts for the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Design Coordination: Manage the interfaces between design engineering disciplines to ensure design is coordinated and complete.
  • Subcontract Management: Develop scope and deliverables lists for Engineering subcontracts for the project.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work within scope is executed in alignment with standard ERSG Holdings Ltd work processes and procedures.
  • Audit and Compliance: Work with the Engineering Director and Discipline Managers to ensure audits of critical work are undertaken to ensure proper quality and completeness, and to eliminate wasteful overdesign (gold-plating).
  • Safety and Constructability: Ensure safety in design reviews are conducted and agreed actions are incorporated into the design, and ensure constructability reviews are conducted and agreed actions are incorporated into the design.
  • Reporting and Communication: Monthly reporting of engineering progress and performance to the Engineering Director, and attending weekly all hands engineering meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: Engineering degree from a recognized university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience designing heavy industrial facilities.
  • Management Experience: Experience managing multi-discipline engineering teams, including subcontractors, to execute facility design.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to delegate work appropriately.
  • Subcontract Management: Experience in subcontract formation and management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Experience using earned value management tools, or similar, to monitor engineering performance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze a problem quickly and with limited data and determine a path to a solution.
