Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Animation Director to lead our animation team and shape the visual direction of our games. As a key member of our creative team, you will work closely with designers, artists, and engineers to ensure that our games deliver exceptional player experiences.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in directing animation teams on AAA game productions. You will be responsible for establishing and communicating the animation vision and quality across the project, ensuring that it aligns with the overall creative direction.

You will work closely with the production team to define animation team organization and pipelines, and help ensure that scope and quality targets are met. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Snowdrop Engine team to help push animation tools and technology forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and communicate the animation vision and quality across the project
  • Define animation team organization and pipelines
  • Collaborate with the Snowdrop Engine team to advance animation tools and technology
  • Ensure balance between gameplay excellence and animation visual quality
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in at least one full AAA videogame production, in a supervising role (Director, Lead)
  • Expert knowledge and passion for gameplay & technical animation on AAA video game productions
  • Professional experience in supervising/directing a team
  • Capacity to clearly articulate and communicate a vision and strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of animation software like Motion Builder, 3DS Max and Maya
  • An understanding of the technologies available to be used in animation like IK, FK, Motion Matching and Procedural, and the pros and cons of their use
