About the Department
The Department of Ecology at SLU is a leading centre of ecological research in Scandinavia. Our team combines research in basic ecology with applied research in nature conservation, wildlife management, forestry, and crop protection. We aim to understand current biodiversity, its evolutionary history, and predict its evolutionary future using interdisciplinary approaches. To achieve this, we collaborate within and outside academia.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement phylogenetic methods for testing model adequacy, inference diagnostics, model comparison, and visualization of outputs from various models.
- Collaborate with our team to develop the R package TreePPL, a universal probabilistic programming language and new software for phylogenetics.
- Work closely with other group members to drive research and publish scientific results.
Requirements
- PhD in Ecology, Evolution, Bioinformatics, or related areas.
- Previous research experience in phylogenetic comparative methods.
- Excellent skills in R programming and familiarity with RevBayes and probabilistic programming.
- Documented ability to independently drive research and publish scientific results.
