Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden KTH Royal Institute of Technology Full time
About the Job
As a Doctoral Student in Engineering Materials Science, you will contribute to the development of advanced steels through the implementation of novel methodology for microstructure control. This project focuses on solid-state phase transformations, which are crucial for controlling the final microstructure and properties of steel.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain skills in developing synchrotron X-ray diffraction characterization methodology to reveal and understand microstructure development during in situ thermal treatments. The data collected will be used to improve existing thermodynamics-based modeling approaches and as input for microstructure design of new sustainable steels.

This is a unique opportunity to work in an international environment with visits at leading synchrotron radiation facilities as well as extended stays at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), one of China's top universities of technology.
