H2 Green Steel, formerly known as Stegra Boden AB, is a pioneering company dedicated to revolutionizing the steel industry through sustainable practices. Our mission is to produce green steel with minimal CO2 emissions, utilizing green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal. By 2030, we aim to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in northern Sweden.

Role Purpose:

The Energy Management team is a critical component of Stegra Boden Mill Services, providing centralized services for the entire mill area and departments. As an Energy Manager, you will be responsible for creating and managing the energy team and IT & Automation team, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment within the team and energy usage throughout the factory area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement the electricity usage strategy in Stegra Boden, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives and sustainability goals.
  2. Lead the development of energy management within the ISO 50001 framework, establishing and overseeing comprehensive electrical work policies and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  3. Act as the primary owner and negotiator for energy and power distribution contracts, driving value optimization and long-term partnerships.
  4. Define, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for energy efficiency and contract performance, ensuring continuous improvement and reporting to senior leadership.
  5. Partner with Energy Portfolio, Procurement, and other key stakeholders to integrate energy strategies across business units and ensure cohesive implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electricity/Energy Engineering or equivalent degree with excellent understanding of financial principles and hedging.
  • Experience in a similar role within heavy industry, with strong experience in electricity/energy management and high voltage systems forecasting.
  • Proven leadership skills in manufacturing organizations, with experience working with service partners and contracts in the energy field and knowledge of procurement contracts and outsourcing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with basic Swedish skills considered an advantage.
