Overview

We are seeking a talented Network Programmer to join our team at Arkane Studios. As a key member of our programming department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing features in C/C++ that are CPU, GPU, and memory efficient, with a focus on delivering a high-quality end-user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement features in C/C++ that meet performance and efficiency requirements.
  • Develop, extend, and debug network and gameplay code while respecting platform and design constraints.
  • Measure and optimize performance and bandwidth of the networking layer.
  • Collaborate with programmers and other disciplines to ensure seamless day-to-day work.
  • Review code written by programmers and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Help mentor less experienced team members.
  • Debug, modify, extend, or use the tools pipeline as necessary.
  • Construct solutions for unforeseen design problems in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and debugging skills in C++.
  • Write clean, professional, well-commented, and maintainable code.
  • Show good knowledge of mathematics for 3D game development.
  • Understand the many components that make up a modern video game and demonstrate capabilities to independently take on tasks.
  • Have experience from a full cycle of a AAA game production.
  • Experience with networked gameplay and object replication in a client-server model.
  • Knowledge about low-level networking communication using UDP/TCP and related technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of online matchmaking services.
