As the Engineering Manager for the Event Platforms team within the Integration Platforms & Services Unit, you will collaborate with innovative teams to propel our mission and roadmap forward. Your inventive ideas will significantly contribute to the development of cutting-edge patterns, templates, and services.

In this position, you will engage closely with relevant stakeholders, delving into the organization's requirements and needs. You will provide event services that empower our engineers and solution architects to design and implement top-tier integration solutions, enhancing H&M's agility, flexibility, and scalability. You will lead a dedicated team focused on our Event platforms, ensuring we deliver seamless technology with self-service functionalities. Additionally, you will evaluate new technologies to ensure they align with H&M's commitment to product and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a strategic vision for Event platforms, including Kafka and Solace PubSub+, in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Supervise the design, implementation, and secure operation of Kafka and Solace-based event streaming platforms.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of integration principles and solutions.
  • Assess and manage the financial implications of decisions and priorities within the product team.
  • Collaborate with other distributed product teams to introduce new capabilities offered by the Integration Platforms & Services Unit.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to your team.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster their professional growth and enhance performance.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly with event streaming platforms like Kafka and Solace.
  • Proficient in Event-driven Architecture and its large-scale implementation in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Event platforms such as Kafka and/or Solace PubSub+.
  • Understanding of CI/CD automation for platform onboarding and self-service capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintaining stable operations and monitoring for platforms.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience with a proven track record of defining and launching successful products.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
  • Strong understanding of public cloud technologies, primarily Azure and GCP.
  • Agile mindset with skills in planning, prioritizing, execution, and follow-ups with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
