Job Overview

JELD-WEN seeks a seasoned EHS professional to drive health, safety, and environmental performance in our Scandinavian region.

This critical role will report to the EHS Director for Europe, working closely with Regional Operational Directors and site teams to implement strategic plans and objectives. As a key member of the Regional Leadership and European EHS teams, you will be responsible for fostering a strong EHS culture, ensuring compliance with company management standards and legislative requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EHS strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to Regional Leadership and site teams on EHS best practices, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
  • Drive incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to minimize risks and improve EHS performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date EHS policies, procedures, and statutory documentation, ensuring accessibility for all employees.
  • Compile and analyze EHS metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement to inform business decisions.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Promote a positive EHS culture through training programs, auditing initiatives, and project development to drive continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators
  1. Reduce occupational injuries and illnesses by implementing effective control measures and monitoring progress.
  2. Ensure compliance with company management systems, EHS policies, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Improve EHS performance metrics, such as injury rates, environmental impact, and employee engagement.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Regional Operational Directors, site teams, and external partners.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful EHS projects, policies, and initiatives resulting in improved standards and behavioral change.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at senior business levels.
  • Ambitious individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, driving innovation and excellence in EHS.
  • Proficient in IT, presenting skills, report writing, statistical analysis, and training package development.
  • Educated to degree level, with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management.
