Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Photochemistry

The position involves research in computational photochemistry. Quantum chemical, QM/MM and molecular dynamics methods will be used to design molecular motors for transforming light energy into rotary motion, and molecular switches for storing solar energy. Part of the research will be carried out in close collaboration with synthetic organic chemists.
Candidates should have a solid background in chemistry and computational chemistry, as well as experience in quantum chemical modeling of organic molecules in electronically excited states. This experience should be documented in the form of research articles published as first author in well-recognized international journals.
Hands-on familiarity with several different quantum chemistry codes is highly desirable. A good working knowledge of Python or similar for efficient data analysis is also required. Experience in non-adiabatic molecular dynamics simulations is a significant plus.
