We are seeking an exceptional researcher to join our team at Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) and contribute to our cutting-edge research in biodiversity studies. As an Assistant Professor, you will have the opportunity to lead a research group in environmental genomics and explore the links between biodiversity and plant physiological processes.
Our centre is a hub for experimental plant research and forest biotechnology in Northern Sweden. We strive for a collaborative work environment and support our scientists throughout all career stages by providing professional training opportunities and individual career mentoring.
The position offers a unique opportunity to conduct independent research and establish your own research group. You will be expected to establish an independent line of research within the field and generate synergies with other research groups at UPSC.
We offer a competitive salary of approximately 750,000 SEK per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to the salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including access to state-of-the-art analytical platforms, unique tree germplasm resources, and plant growth facilities.
Your duties will primarily be establishing and leading a research group in biodiversity studies using environmental genomics. This includes all aspects of scientific leadership, including applying for funds, supervising PhD students and postdocs, and communicating the findings.
