The European Spallation Source is seeking a skilled Technician to join our Neutron Chopper Systems group. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the forefront of scientific research, working on the maintenance, assembly, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems critical to the operation of neutron choppers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform hands-on maintenance, assembly, and testing of neutron chopper systems
- Advise mechanical engineers on best practices and production methods
- Operate workshop equipment, including manual drills, lathes, mills, and soldering tools
- Execute equipment test programs and procure parts
- Ensure the neutron chopper facilities are maintained to the highest standards
To thrive in this role, you need to be driven, responsive, and good at spotting problems and opportunities. You should be a highly motivated person who is not afraid to get your hands dirty.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technician with a strong background in technical workshops and a proven ability to handle complex, precision equipment. Ideally, you have a certified professional education in Mechanical or Mechatronic Technology and significant prior experience working in a highly technical or engineering environment.
