The School of Engineering Sciences at KTH offers a prestigious PhD position for a doctoral student to join the particle physics group engaged in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. The successful candidate will have the chance to study in a dynamic international environment, with access to extensive collaborations and state-of-the-art facilities.

Under the supervision of Associate Professor Christian Ohm, the PhD student will focus on measurements of the Higgs boson and searches for new long-lived particles within the ATLAS experiment. The primary responsibilities include data analysis and physics interpretation, with opportunities to contribute to the development of the High-Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD).

Eligibility requirements include:

  • A second-cycle degree (e.g., master's degree) or equivalent course credits.
  • Demonstrated English proficiency.
  • A strong academic background in experimental physics, with experience in computer programming for data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
