Power Quality Specialist for Converter Stations

Join our team as a Converter Station Harmonic Analysis Engineer at Hitachi Energy As a key member of our Harmonic Analysis team, you will be responsible for analyzing and mitigating harmonic issues in HVDC converter stations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze harmonic power quality requirements and propose active or passive mitigation measures;
  • Calculate harmonic stresses in main circuit equipment and evaluate the need for mitigation measures or redesigns;
  • Develop tools in Excel, MATLAB, or Python to analyze and process large amounts of data effectively;
  • Present your work and discuss challenges on a higher level, both internally and with customers or suppliers;
  • Write clear technical reports describing complex study work in a professional manner;
  • Participate in conferences and standardization work groups within international engineering communities;

Your Background:

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Engineering Physics;
  • You have a general understanding of electrical power systems and their equipment;
  • You can model and analyze electrical circuits in frequency-domain by hand and via computer;
  • You approach problems with a practical mindset and understand the importance of challenging customer requirements;
  • You are a team player with excellent communication and report writing skills;
  • Programming experience in MATLAB is highly beneficial;
  • Experience with EMT tools like PSCAD is advantageous;
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal;
