Job Overview

This role is focused on installing, adjusting, repairing, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance of electronic, mechatronic, electromechanical, or mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, adjust, test, and perform periodic maintenance on standard equipment and systems.
  • Utilize troubleshooting equipment to assist in problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with technical experts for evaluation and decision-making on necessary adjustments to the PM plan for instruments/units.
  • Record and report abnormal functioning of equipment or conditions, initiating corrective actions.
  • Identify suppliers for spare parts, calculate costs, and prepare requisitions.
  • Conduct regular rounds according to business needs.
  • Provide technical expertise for equipment purchases.
  • Assist with contract signings.
  • Test, evaluate, and adjust instruments and devices after completion of repairs.
  • Document inspections, maintenance work, repairs, and other tasks according to guidelines and methods.
  • Communicate with customers and external suppliers during calibration, repair, and operation of equipment, coordinating with external suppliers when necessary.
  • Install and/or upgrade firmware and modular parts as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A three-year technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • One year's experience in installation, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of equipment or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret instructions, draft emails, memos, and pose clear questions to ensure comprehension.
  • Capacity to write clear routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, and/or supervisors.
  • Ability to instruct others in relevant instrument techniques and operations.
  • Expected to share information about current events or instruments relevant to the department/company.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication in both Swedish and English.
  • Active participation and contribution to meetings in accordance with company policies.
  • Ability to work in laboratory-controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a drug and alcohol test, and other background checks.
  • PerkinElmer has a 6-month probationary period.
