We are seeking a Cultural Artifact Curator to join our team at the IKEA Museum. As a key member of the Archive & Collection department, you will be responsible for the care and preservation of our unique cultural heritage.

You will work closely with colleagues to assess the condition of the collection and develop effective conservation strategies. This includes proposing environmental management solutions to maintain optimal conditions for the care of organic and inorganic materials.

Additionally, you will lead on the monitoring of temperature, relative humidity, pollutants, and light levels, reporting and analyzing data as necessary. Your expertise will also support Integrated Pest Management initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assess collection condition and develop effective conservation strategies
  • Propose environmental management solutions for long-term preservation
  • Monitor and report on environmental factors affecting collections
  • Support Integrated Pest Management initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience working in the heritage sector (e.g., museum, gallery, library, archive)
  • Proficient conservation skills and knowledge of material deterioration mechanisms
  • Strong understanding of conservation theory and practices
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
