Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PhD student to join our research group in mineral processing. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of sustainable exploration and extraction methods for small-scale deposits containing critical metals and minerals.

The research project aims to meet the challenges associated with improved ore characterization and its integration into process design and optimization. By leveraging geometallurgical methods, we strive to create efficient and sustainable exploration and extraction methods to make optimal use of mineral resources.

  1. Characterize small-scale Ni-Cu-PGE deposits by mineralogical and particle properties as well as beneficiation properties relevant to mineral processing.
  2. Establish a geometallurgical database and model to optimize process design and process performance through systematic integration of data from different sources.
  3. Design flexible process flowsheets for geometallurgical investigations considering multiple objectives and under material sample and laboratory capacity constraints.
