Job Role
In this role, you will be responsible for developing our downstream processing workflows for iron-containing proteins with a strong focus on material from precision fermentation. You will provide knowledge and strengthen the research and development work of Ironic Biotech.
Your responsibilities will include planning, setting up, and conducting scientific experiments and trials, providing hands-on experience in protein production and purification, recording, analyzing, and documenting experimental data, writing scientific reports, reviews, and summaries, developing and writing SOP protocols for DSP and quality control (QC), providing technical expertise and support, and participating in the normal day-to-day running of the lab.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- M.Sc./Ph.D. in Life Sciences, e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or related fields;
- Industrial work experience in DSP development and protein purification;
- Experienced hands-on laboratory work capability with proven experience in downstream processing in laboratory to small pilot scale;
- Expertise in techniques for protein purification, including chromatographic techniques such as IEX, HIC, SEC, etc.;
- Work experience and knowledge in handling ÄKTA systems, including column packing;
- Expertise in protein characterization techniques, including protein spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, stability assays, etc.;
- Experience with upstream processing is advantageous;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a dynamic team;
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- Professional fluency in English (spoken and written);
- Legally authorized to work in Sweden.
