Gothenburg, Västra Götaland, Sweden Chalmers Tekniska Högskola AB Full time

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team at Chalmers University of Technology. As a researcher in nanophotonics and photochemistry, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that combine nanomaterials science, catalysis, nanoplasmonics, sensors, and nanofluidics.

Project Overview

The project combines recent achievements in single-particle catalysis, nanofluidic microscopy, optical microcavities, and photochemistry under confinement. Our goal is to create integrated nanoarchitectures that enable simultaneous nanoconfinement of chemical reactants and light, leading to novel approaches for photochemical synthesis.

About the Research Team

The Langhammer group is part of the Chemical Physics Division at Chalmers University of Technology. We specialize in advanced optical microscopy techniques, state-of-the-art nanofabrication methodologies, and custom research instruments. Our team is passionate about exploring the intersection of nanotechnology, nanophotonics, photochemistry, and multidisciplinary research.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct experiments within the Langhammer group and entire project team, including the Shegai and Grommet groups.
  • Characterize the optical properties of nanofluidic structures with integrated optical cavities.
  • Develop and apply machine learning tools to analyze complex datasets.
  • Present research findings in team meetings, international conferences, and publications.
  • Supervise Master's students and contribute to undergraduate teaching.
