About the Role:

This contract manager position involves ensuring compliance with contract terms, managing risks, handling claims, and optimizing project contractual disputes with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.

The successful candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of the contract, from negotiation and execution to closure, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met by the client and subcontractors.

The role requires effective contract administration, risk management, and dispute resolution skills to safeguard the interests of the general contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential claims during project design and execution
  • Prepare detailed claims for extensions of time, changes of scope, variation orders, and additional works
  • Ensure claims are well-argued, well-documented, and submitted within the stipulated timeframe
  • Negotiate claims with the employer and other stakeholders
  • Maintain comprehensive records of communications, contractual documents, and project progress
  • Advise on applying contractual mechanisms such as Dispute Adjudication Boards (DAB) or arbitration when claims are not resolved through negotiation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related technical field
  • Sound knowledge of contract law, particularly in standard agreements AB, ABT, ABK, and ABM
  • Familiarity with Swedish laws affecting construction projects, including regulations on health, safety, and the environment
  • Practical experience in contract management within the construction industry, ideally on large-scale or international projects
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
