Ecologist Researcher Positions in Forest Biodiversity

Our team of researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is seeking three experienced ecologists to contribute to cutting-edge research in forest biodiversity management.

The Wallenberg Initiatives in Forest Research (WIFORCE) program is funding these positions, which will focus on specific areas of forest biodiversity research, enabling interdisciplinary collaboration and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Biodiversity Research in Terrestrial Ecosystems

This role will focus on researching how forest management impacts biodiversity in terrestrial ecosystems. The appointed researcher will develop methods to protect sensitive habitats, enhance ecosystem resilience, and restore environments for threatened species.

Conservation Strategies for Forested Peatlands and Riparian Zones

Focusing on water-rich habitats and forest management, this position will study the interplay between these areas and develop strategies for conserving threatened species and methods for sustainable ecosystem restoration.

Developing Advanced Tools and Methodologies

This position will concentrate on developing advanced tools and methodologies for assessing biodiversity. By leveraging technologies such as remote sensing, genetic analysis, and AI, the research will bridge empirical data and model development to create practical, scalable solutions.
