Job Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled 3D software engineering leader to join our team at Inter IKEA Group. This role will focus on overseeing production workflows, managing resources, and balancing workloads to meet deadlines and constraints.

\

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in senior or lead SW Engineering roles, with hands-on CAD and 3D development experience. They should be familiar with 3D software and related development, including CAD, PLM, PDM, and downstream computer graphics asset utilization for offline and real-time rendering.

Key Responsibilities

\
  1. Oversee production workflows to ensure efficient use of resources and meet deadlines.
  2. Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure platforms and products are scalable, modular, and aligned with IKEA's strategies.
  3. Maintain and enforce quality standards across all 3D disciplines to ensure technical excellence.
  4. Promote best practices in engineering and production workflows to drive innovation.
  5. Guide teams with extensive knowledge of IKEA's business model to improve information flow and alignment with technical goals.
  6. Lead onboarding and skill development for new engineers and team members to build a future-ready team.
  7. Advocate for security and engineering best practices across the organization.
  8. Explore and implement new technologies to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  9. Set strategic engineering priorities, co-create technical roadmaps, and optimize product delivery.
  10. Represent IKEA's technology both internally and externally in the broader market.

Requirements

\
  • Proven experience as a senior or lead SW Engineering role with hands-on CAD and 3D development experience.
  • Expertise in 3D software and related development, with a deep understanding of CAD, PLM, PDM, and downstream computer graphics asset utilization for offline and real-time rendering.
  • Experience with CAD workflows and product development lifecycle pipelines, including tools like Revit, SolidWorks, CATIA, Clo3D, and general understanding of 3D DCC tools (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3DS Max).
  • Good understanding of CAD conversion and polygon tessellation solutions and SDKs.
  • Knowledge of Pixar's USD (Universal Scene Description) and MaterialX structure is a plus.
  • General understanding of 3D asset creation processes for downstream utilization in CG, including texturing, lighting, rigging, and posing.
  • Familiarity with technologies and languages such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, VBA, C#, C++, Python, OpenAPI.
  • A DevOps mindset to ensure smooth operation of business-critical applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working with Agile development teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English for effective global communication.
