We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Capability Area Data Engineering team at Nordea Bank. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building distributed and highly parallelized data processing pipelines that process massive amounts of data in near real-time.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining scalable and efficient data processing pipelines using Spark and Scala
  • Collaborating with analysts and business stakeholders to develop analytics models and data visualizations
  • Working closely with the QA team to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Automating processes where possible and ensuring repeatable and reliable results

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in Agile methodologies
  • Unit testing experience with ScalaTest or similar
  • Programming experience with Scala or Java and willingness to learn Scala
  • Experience with distributed data processing engines like Spark

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies is an advantage:

  • Robot Framework
  • Atlassian Suite: Confluence, JIRA
  • Hadoop ecosystem (hive, oozie, Impala etc.)
  • Snowflake
