The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mälardalen University is seeking a PhD student to contribute to a research project within our research environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of researchers and students, and will be involved in a range of activities including research, teaching, and administration.

Job Description

The position involves conducting research in the field of mathematics/applied mathematics, with a specific focus on the research project that funds the position. This may involve:

  • Conducting research in the field of mathematics/applied mathematics
  • Teaching at undergraduate and advanced level in mathematics/applied mathematics
  • Supervision and co-supervision at undergraduate and advanced level
  • Administration and development of academic programs

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in seminars and workshops, and will be expected to publish research papers in international journals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree at an advanced level
  • At least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 are at an advanced level
  • Equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad through other means
  • 90 credits in the subject area of mathematics/applied mathematics, of which 60 credits at advanced level

Applicants should also be able to express themselves well in speech and writing in English.
