Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fintech Data Scientist to join our cross-functional Payments Tooling team in Helsinki, Berlin, or Stockholm. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with software engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts to develop algorithms and solutions for fraud prevention.

The role involves owning applied science use cases from start to finish, including identifying opportunities, developing and prototyping solutions, deploying, maintaining, and improving them in production. We utilize various technologies such as Python, SQL, Snowflake, Flyte, MLflow, and Seldon Core to achieve our goals.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on machine learning models like risk scoring and identity resolution. This is an exciting chance to shape the future of fraud prevention across Wolt products and set the direction for our embedded applied scientist role in the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A deep understanding of machine learning and statistics, with hands-on experience in production-level Applied Science and Machine Learning projects;
  • The ability to tackle complex domains, break them down into solvable problems, and develop novel solutions;
  • Previous experience in Fintech domain;
  • Knowledge of experimental design and analysis, such as A/B testing;
  • Solid engineering skills and fluency in Python, with experience in databases (SQL) and a strong focus on MLOps;
  • An analytical, curious, and proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and a drive to get things done.
