Job Title: "Software Developer 3"


Oracle is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Core Libraries Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing, debugging, and designing software applications and operating systems. Your primary focus will be on the Java Core Libraries, which include Networking, Collections, Compression, Math Libraries, Serialization, Regular Expressions, XML, Internationalization, Charsets, Concurrency, and Classloaders.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and other related areas.
  • Design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
  • Collaborate with external developers, customers, and partners on defects and feature enhancement requests for future releases.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and other related areas.
  • Assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with API design, code development, and debugging in multi-platform environments (Solaris, Windows, Linux, Mac) is a plus.
  • Strong background in Networking.
  • Experience scaling networking-based applications is a plus.
  • Strong on data structures, algorithms, performance tuning, threading, and concurrency.
  • Strong on quality, including developing thorough tests for new or changed code.
  • Hands-on experience in distributed computing, concurrency programming, performance enhancements in a server environment, algorithm design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Java and scripting languages (shell, python, perl, etc).
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and practices (unit and system level automation).
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.

About the Role: As a member of the software engineering division, you will be responsible for assisting in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
