This thesis opportunity focuses on investigating trout passage behavior in vertical slot fishways. The project aims to review literature on the hydrodynamics and fish response to conventional vertical slot fishways, as well as closed/covered systems. You'll also be responsible for conducting a life fish experiment, reviewing video material, and performing statistical data analysis and visualization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate trout passage behavior in vertical slot fishways
  • Develop and implement a life fish experiment
  • Analyze video material and extract behavior information
  • Perform statistical data analysis and visualization

Requirements

  • Background in biology or a related field
  • Experience in statistical data analysis and data visualization, preferably with R Studio
  • Interest in fish migrations and ecology
  • Proficiency in English
