About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Tools Engineer to join our team at Activision Publishing, Inc. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing tools to support the creation of our games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tools to improve the iterative content cycle, including asset creation and management tools, exporters, and content creation tools.
  • Maintain and support existing infrastructure, as well as develop new tools and frameworks as needed.
  • Collaborate with content creators, designers, and other engineers to gather requirements and ensure tool design specifications are met.
  • Design and develop user-friendly interfaces for content creators.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in tools programming, with a strong focus on C#/C/C++ and data structures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performance, multi-threaded programming techniques, and software design practices.
  • Knowledge of common data structures and algorithmic solutions.
  • Client-focused and able to quickly understand and work with internal and externally developed code.
  • A strong passion for video games and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Server and Maya plugin development.
  • Knowledge of computer game technologies, including camera systems, AI programming, physics, 3D programming, animation, and collision detection.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, portable, reliable, and optimized tools code.
  • Contributed extensively to the development of tools for at least one shipped console game.
