About the Division and the DepartmentAt the group of Assistant Prof. Amparo Jiménez Quero, you will be working with a multidisciplinary and multicultural set of researchers with a broad background in biomass utilization, from enzymatic degradation to molecular characterization of biomass polymers and further material formulation. The IndBio division is well-equipped with infrastructure related to the project goals, and internal collaborations with other divisions at Chalmers will provide the necessary facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe project aims to harness the vast potential of underutilized marine resources, particularly focusing on by-products from algae and fish markets. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work with a diverse group of researchers specializing in various aspects of biomass utilization, including:
- Enzymatic degradation and molecular characterization of biomass polymers
- Material formulation and application
- Deep glycomic analysis and biomass transformation into high-value compounds
You will be responsible for conducting research, developing new methods and techniques, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
RequirementsTo qualify for this position, you must have:
- A PhD degree in Biotechnology, Food Chemistry, or a related field
- Experience and highly developed skills in biomass valorization, characterization, and application
- Experience in performing deep glycomic analysis and laboratory work
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Chalmers offers a cultivating and inspiring working environment, and this postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two years.
