About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to lead our sustainability agenda and drive our commitment to sustainable stewardship.

As a key member of our international team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with internal and external Codes of Conduct, and integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and drive our sustainability program, including setting targets and KPIs, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
  3. Lead initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint, enhance resource efficiency, promote sustainable forestry practices, ensure employee health and wellbeing, and strong business ethics.
  4. Collect, analyse, and report sustainability data to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Contribute to compliance with EU regulations such as CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards).
  6. Manage sustainability labelling, including FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), and EPDs (environmental product declarations) for wood products to meet industry standards and consumer expectations.
  7. Engage with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to advocate for sustainable practices and foster partnerships.
  8. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure our sustainability practices are cutting-edge.
  9. Promote a culture of sustainability within the organisation through training, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement.
Requirements
  1. 3+ years of experience in a senior sustainability role, with a proven track record of creating sustainability impact in business, preferably within the timber or manufacturing industries.
  2. Demonstrated ability to drive change as well as to manage and coordinate cross-functional projects and teams.
  3. Experience from working with a wide range of sustainability topics like: Climate, Biodiversity, Health & Safety, Sustainable Sourcing, Human and labour rights in the Supply Chain, and Business Conduct.
  4. Experience with sustainability labelling for wood products such as FSC, PEFC and Breem and work with EPDs.
  5. Strong understanding of regulations, standards and guidelines like GHG Protocol, CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures), EUDR and best practices within the sustainability field.
  6. Demonstrated ability to influence, interact with, and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Excellent communication & presentation skills in English – spoken and written.
  8. Proficient in collecting, analysing, and reporting sustainability data with an eye for details.
  9. Academic degree in a relevant field.
  10. Advanced skills in the MS Office pack.
