As a Design Engineer at Johnson Controls, you will play a key role in developing innovative HVAC & R systems for marine and cruise applications. Our team is dedicated to using the latest environmentally friendly solutions, with CO2 refrigerant as our new standard.

In this role, you will work closely with our team leaders to design and develop creative solutions for provision plants and heat pumps. Your tasks will include system calculations, chiller design solutions, and documentation. You will be involved in a diverse range of tasks that will challenge and expand your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the design team leader to develop solutions for provision plants and brine system calculations.
  • Collaborate with our application engineers to read specifications, make deviations, and create JCI technical specifications for quotations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our commissioning and design processes.
  • Provide technical sales support, starting with specific areas and expanding your scope as your skills develop.
  • Participate in testing activities of new products developed by the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering. Knowledge of refrigeration technology is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail in problem-solving.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international matrix environment.
  • Business acumen with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Collaborative, convincing, and credible in interactions with customers, partners, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of HVAC & R systems.
  • Experience in industrial installations or service business, and/or automation & controls.
