Job Summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead our electrical transmission and distribution projects, driving innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of EPC mega-projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide strong leadership for a global team, including project managers and other specialists.
  • Manage change, assess risks and opportunities, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Take ownership of project profitability, leading budget planning and execution.
  • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and business partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale EPC/turnkey projects in power, energy, industrial, infrastructure, or oil & gas sectors.
  • Experience in power generation, transmission & distribution, or power conversion (HVDC, substations, etc.) is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage client relationships and subcontractor interactions.
  • Understand risk assessments, method statements, and project methodologies (PMP/PMI certification desirable).
  • Possess analytical skills and ability to navigate complex contracts and local project regulations.
  • Demonstrate stress-resilience, flexibility, creativity, and ability to adapt to unforeseen situations.

Location and Travel

The location for this role can be flexible for locations within Sweden, but Ludvika or Västerås are preferred. The role requires domestic and international travel.
